Notes |
- Lee Banning Beebe, born Oct. 22, 1950, peacefully departed this life on Dec. 11, 2013, after a long and heroic battle with cancer. Lee was a master home builder, professional skier, musician and avid hockey player, but his greatest joy in life was his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marie (Sperrazza) Beebe and Monroe Beebe, longtime residents of Old Lyme, Conn. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mimi Beebe of Las Vegas, Nev., a real estate professional; son, Brandon Beebe, a film major, creative director, and event promoter; daughter, Sofia Lingos-Papaliodis, an attorney in Boston, Mass., married to George Papaliodis; brother, Jonathan Beebe of Bozrah, Conn.; his nephew, Joshua, married to Susan Beebe, and children, Samuel and William of Bozrah, Conn.; nephew, Jeremy married to Elizabeth Beebe and their daughter, Summer Beebe, of Ledyard, Conn.; and two wolves (other sons), Balto and Blaze.
Lee attended Boston University before moving to Switzerland to ski the Alps. He subsequently moved to Park City, Utah, where he was instrumental in the downhill skiing industry and maintained his mountain home. He founded his company McBee Construction in Las Vegas, Nev., and built custom homes for many of the celebrities who reside in the area. He was a health and fitness aficionado, and until the end, you could find him on the ice playing hockey beside his son, Brandon, a collegiate hockey player.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the Old Lyme Congregational Church, 2 Ferry Road, Old Lyme, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Serenity Gathering, a project that Lee supported with his wife and son. May his memory be eternal.
