  • Notes
    • Rita Irene Stevens Bradley, 76, of Huntington, VT passed away peacefully in her sleep Jan 23rd, 2016 at her daughter's home. She was born in Huntington, VT on July 15, 1939, to Heman Henderson Stevens and Gladys (Walton) Stevens. She leaves her children Penny Bradley of Huntington, and Peggy Bradley & her fiancé Paul Zugaro of Richmond; her grandchildren Kaci Bradley of Middlebury, Ashli Earle & her husband Tristan Earle of Starksboro, Samantha Farmer of Bristol, and Tyler Petherick of Jonesville; her great-grandchildren Kristi Bradley-Presser, Bella Presser, Adrianna Earle, Peyton Farmer, Zander Earle, Matthew Bradley and Emma Petherick; her son-in-law and dear friend Kelly May of Newport; her sister Geraldine (Jerry) Hallock, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by both of her parents, her brothers Harold, Heman, Roger, George, Donald, and Richard Stevens, her sister Dorothy (Dottie) Blish, and niece Debbie (Blish) Gabaree.
She had a 25-year-long career at IBM where her co-workers fondly referred to her as "Omar". She was an avid sports lover, but she was a DIEHARD Boston Red Sox Fan! She followed and was a loyal fan of her favorite football team, the Washington Redskins. She enjoyed coaching, teaching, and attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. She was their number one fan. She was witty, intelligent, and a true giver of unconditional love. She lived her life giving to others, because that's what made HER happy. There will never be another like her. God blessed us all, and brought back home, the best Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, GG-NaNa, Sister, Aunt, and Friend!! She will be dearly missed.
In keeping with her wishes, there will not be a service or viewing. Instead, a celebration of her life will take place on Sunday, February 28th at 2pm at the Richmond Congregational Church, 20 Church Street, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Serving New England, 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
