- Clarence W. Cheesman, 81, Leonardville (Kansas), died Saturday (3 Apr 1983) at the Leonardville Nursing Home.
Mr. Cheesman was born Jan. 8, 1902, at Lebanon, Smith County, Kansas, and had lived in the Leonardville community for many years. He was a retired federal Civil Service employee.
Clarence married Lena May Mullen on Nov. 29 1922 at Alma, Harlan County, Nebraska. Lena, died March 19 of this year.
Surviving are two sons, Joe, of California, and Gene, Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Coral O'Neill, Manhattan (Kansas); eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the Holmes Funeral Home, Riley (Kansas), the Rev. Ron Bumstead officiating. Burial will be in the Leonardville Cemetery.
