- Minnie Lee Robertson, 88, passed away May 29, 2008. A native of Chowan County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John L. Lassiter and Jenny Hollowell Lassiter. She was also predeceased by her husbands, Edward L. Baines and Reginald Robertson. Minnie was a homemaker, a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church and the Nettie Harrell Ladies Sunday School Class. She is survived by her daughter, Elsie B. Brinkley of Suffolk; a granddaughter, Nancy B. Savage; a great-granddaughter, Kelly A. Savage, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, James A. Lassiter of Florence, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. John Wolfe and the Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
