LCDR Warren W. Seekell, USN (Ret.), 83, Narragansett, passed away Saturday. He was the husband of Ruth (Williams) Seekell for sixty-three years.
Born in Hyannis, MA, he was the son of the late George B. and Jessie E. (Pierce) Seekell of Taunton, MA.
LCDR Seekell enlisted in the Navy Combat Air Crew training program in December 1944. After promotions to Chief Petty Officer, he was commissioned an Ensign and retired as LCDR in 1974. He was a specialist in Air Anti-Submarine Warfare and Air Intelligence. After military retirement, CDR Seekell attended URI, graduating in 1979 with a degree in music. He was organist and choir director at Calvary Bible Church, Narragansett for many years and taught piano privately.
In addition to his wife, he leaves five children, Carolyn Cunningham, Wayne, Roger, Audrey Saint and Philip; twenty?three grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
The funeral was held Friday in Calvary Bible Church, 3 Narragansett. Burial with military honors followed in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
