- Clive Vare 80, beloved husband of Gayle (Bellows) Vare passed away May 26, 2018. He was born October 24, 1937 in Southampton, England a son of the late Reginal and Gwendolyn (West) Vare and had resided in Brooklyn for the past 25 years. Mr. Vare was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was employed as an Electrician for over 45 years. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed woodworking. Besides his wife he leaves a son Christopher Vare of Portland; 3 daughters Correne M. Ford of KY, Kimberly MacDonald and Lisa Moran both of NH; 2 stepsons Joseph Basley of Brooklyn and Michael Basley of NC; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a niece. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Krystle Hourigan and a sister Sylvia Eller. Visiting hours are Friday (6-1-18) 4-7PM at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be to the family.
