Suddenly in hospital on September 13, 1997, Douglas Albert Baker, aged 74 years. Devoted and loving husband of Evelyn. Beloved father and stepfather of Yvonne (Edward Wagorn), Christine (Darren Gardner), Ken (Susan), Barb Higgins (Barry) and Debby Higgins (Paul). Caring grandfather and great-grandfather. Faithfully served in the R.A.F., England as a wireless operator and rear gunner, 1941-1946. He received the following medals of distinction: Aircrew Europe France and Germany Star, Defence Medal and 1939/45 Star.

Friends may call at the Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Road (east of Bank) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral service Tuesday in the chapel followed by cremation.

 | Mel Deinstadt DEINSTADT -On Thursday, February 24, 2000, Mel Deinstadt, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away at the age of 88 years. He was predeceased by his brothers and sister Fred, George, Dave and Joy. Mel is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mabel, his daughters Irene (Sherman) Goodwin of Cornwall, ON, Evelyn Baker of Ottawa, ON and Donna (Gordon) Meyer of Balgonie, SK, son Elvin of Lethbridge, AB, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brothers Alvin of Nanaimo, BC and Harry of Smith Falls, ON as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK with Rev. Howard Hanson, officiating. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

 | Donna Meyer MEYER, Donna Jean February 16, 1951 - October 8, 2018 Donna passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 in Regina, Saskatchewan. She is survived by husband Gordon and four sons Kevin, Nicholas (grandsons Brock, Rhett, Zayde and their mother Chelsey), Nathan (granddaughters Alyssa, Haylee and their mother Jennifer) and Shawn (Alex) and grandsons Weston and Wyatt). Donna is also survived by her mother Mable Deinstadt; brother Elvin and sister Irene; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Melvin and sister Evelyn. Donna and Gordon were married September 23, 1972. They started their marriage in Calgary. In 1976, they bought their farm just outside of Hodgeville where they started growing their family. The farm is where mom loved to work in her large garden. The family moved to Balgonie in 1991, where Donna lived out the rest of life. A Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. (Please meet inside the cemetery gates just prior to 2:00 p.m.) In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1 to help fund the research for a cure for Dementia. |

 | Mabel Deinstadt DEINSTADT, Mabel 1918-2019
With heavy hearts, the family of Mabel Alma Deinstadt announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, November 23, 2019. She was 101 years old. Mabel was born in Drake, SK on July 18, 1918. She was predeceased by her husband Melvin; daughters Evelyn Baker and Donna Meyer; and granddaughter Debby Higgins. Mabel is survived by her daughter Irene Goodwin (Sherman); son Elvin; son-in-law Gordon Meyer; grandchildren Barb Higgins (Barry), Rhea Goodwin (Derrick), Ryan Goodwin (Kelly), Kevin Meyer, Nathan Meyer (Christina), Nicholas Meyer, and Shawn Meyer (Alex); fourteen great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister Vera Gilmour; brother-in-law Al Deinstadt. Mabel will also be missed by her best friend Mary Sali and friends at Cedarwood Manor.  | Margaret Schneider Margaret Winnifred Schneider was born in Drake, SK on November 19, 1916. The family moved to St. Brieux where she had her schooling and most of her adult life was spent on a farm.
She married Emil Schneider on June 10, 1972 and had seven wonderful years before his passing on December 21, 1979. Peggy then moved to Wakaw for twenty years and then Melfort for sixteen years. When her health failed she was transferred to Arborfield and District Health Care Home until her passing on June 9, 2017 at the age of 100.
She leaves to mourn her step-children Darlene Duford, Carol Gzenda, Jane Ruep, Rodwen (Rose) Schneider, ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, three sisters, Mabel Deinstadt of Regina, Ella Buckle of Maple Ridge, BC, and Vera Gilmour of the Arborfield Health Care Home.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents Charles and Mary McJuray, her husband Emil Schneider, siblings, Bessie (John) Gilmour, George (Sarah) McJuray, Kathleen (Swen) Petterson, Melvin Deinstadt, Ernie Buckle, Peter Gilmour, and sons –in-law Warren Duford, Arnold Gzenda and Larry Ruep. |

 | J. Glenn Cougill Amemorial service was held for J. Glenn Cougill, August 1st at Central Presbyterian Church. Glenn passed away July 25, 2007. A private burial service was held at Rest Haven Mausoleum with an Army Color Guard. Glenn was born September 21, 1918 in Conrad, Montana to James and Ida MacKenzie Cougill. The family moved to Eugene, OR when Glenn was 15 where he graduated from Eugene High School. He joined the Army in June 1941, after completing his junior year at the U of O, graduating in 1951 with a B.S. degree. He served in the Army from 1941 until January 1946, spending 15 months in the Aleutian Islands then at Fort Jackson, SC before embarking for Europe in 1944. He married Ellen McGee in Spokane, WA on July 3, 1944. He fought in the European Theater in France, Belgium, and Germany, ending at the border of Czechoslovakia on VE Day in 1945. During the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium, he was awarded the Silver Star and three Bronze Stars. He was cited for his military action in a book, "The Little Known Front," written by Eric Urbain of Bras, Belgium which covers 3 weeks of fierce fighting in Urbain's home area. Glenn often attributed his survival to things he learned as a Boy Scout and Scouting Leader. Glenn and Ellen visited the Urbains in 2000.
Upon returning to Eugene, he joined his father in the real estate business and worked as a realtor for 55 years. In 1958 he and Howard Hansen merged their offices and became Cougill and Hansen Realtors. Joe E. Lewis joined the firm as a full partner in 1975 after many years as a salesman. The firm is still in business under the umbrella of John L. Scott, Inc.
During his business career he was a member of the Eugene Realtor Association, serving as president and numerous other positions, including Director for the State. Glenn was instrumental in the formation of the Eugene Multiple Listing Association, serving as its president and a director for several years. He was awarded the prestigious Realtor of the Year designation. Continuing as a community leader Glenn served as Chair of the Room Tax Committee for the City of Eugene/Hult Center and for 25 years helped guide Cascade Manor into the fine institution it is today. He also belonged to Rotary, Eugene Country Club, Al Kader Shrine, Masonic Lodge, Oregon Community Foundation, Board of Directors of Home Federal Savings and Loan, Elks, and the Eugene Executives Association.
Various business projects included the development and ownership of Garden Valley Shopping Center in Roseburg for 25 years, Drive 'n Save Markets in Eugene, Roseburg and Cottage Grove and many housing developments in the Ferry Street Bridge area. After retiring from the office, he built Summerfield Estates, a 115-lot retirement home development.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed golf, cards, gardening and did extensive traveling with Ellen over the years.
Glenn belonged to the Central Presbyterian Church for 73 years, was a Deacon and served on various committees and projects. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Laurie Weaver of Cottage Grove, a son, Paul and wife, Marla, of San Diego, five grandchildren: Alaina Bailey of Hillsboro, Jordan Bailey of Stayton, Jesse Weaver of Eugene and Sean and Katrina Weaver of Cottage Grove, and one great-granddaughter, Maya Bailey of Stayton.
Remembrances in his name may be made to Central Presbyterian Church Foundation, Volunteers in Medicine or any charity of your choice. |

 | Ellen Cougill Ellen A. Cougill 1922 - 2017
Ellen Adel Cougill passed away May 15, 2017. Her life touched so many, and she was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A private burial service was held at Rest Haven Mausoleum (celebration of life memorial service date and time to be announced later). Ellen was born October 11, 1922 in Cranbrook, British Columbia to Robert and Adel Jantz McGee, being one of three siblings. The family moved to Spokane, WA, where she was raised and where Ella (aka Gee Gee) graduated with Honors at John R. Rogers High School in 1941. She married J. Glenn Cougill on July 3, 1944 and enjoyed 63 years with her lifetime love.
Upon moving to Eugene, OR, she worked alongside Glenn in his real estate business, Cougill and Hansen Realtors, other business projects and developments. Some of the many organizations and clubs she belonged to were the Junior League, Eugene Country Club, National Secretary Association; University of Oregon, Rotary and Oregon Community Foundations. She did extensive traveling with Glenn over the years, was an avid bridge player, enjoyed cards, racquet ball, gardening and was a devoted walker. Ellen had a passion for knowledge and was a lifelong learner, much of which was through the U of O.
Ellen belonged to the Central Presbyterian Church, and served on various committees and projects. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters: Frieda Hester and Ethel Palmer, and one granddaughter, Katrina Weaver. Ellen is survived by a daughter, Laurie Weaver, a son, Paul Cougill and wife, Marla, four grandchildren: Jordan Bailey and wife, Sarah, Alaina Bailey, Jesse Weaver, Sean Weaver, and three great-grandchildren: Maya, Sawyer and Lennen Bailey.

 | Kenneth Hester HESTER SR, Kenneth Lee - Passed away June 20, 1989. Survived by his wife, Frieda M. Hester, at the home in Winthrop, WA; two sons, Ken Hester & Steve Hester in Spokane; a brother, Earl Hester, Burien, WA. He was born August 12. 1914 in Spokane. President of the Family Business of Northwest Seed & Pet Inc until his retirement in 1979. Member of the Men's Garden Club. Dahlia Society, Rose Society, and Eagles all in Spokane.  | Frieda Hester HESTER, Frieda, L.
Passed away unexpectedly November 17, 2009. Frieda was born in Drake, Saskatchewan Canada August 8, 1916 to Robert and Adele McGee. The family moved to Spokane where Frieda was raised, graduating from Rogers High School in 1933. She moved to Seattle after graduation and it was here that she met and married Ken Hester. They moved to Spokane to raise their family and in 1954 they purchased Northwest Seed and Pet, running it together until retiring in 1979. Upon retiring, the couple moved to Winthrop, WA. She and Ken loved having the family come for visits, entertaining them with raft rides down the Chewach River in the summer and snowmobiling the wide open ranges in the winter. When her husband passed away in 1989, Frieda moved back to Spokane to be closer to family. At the time of her passing, Frieda was residing at Brighton Court Retirement Home. Always active, Frieda enjoyed gardening, card playing and dancing. Frieda along with her long time dance partner, "Doc" Detmer, could be seen around town two or three times a week at all the different dance events. Frieda is survived by her two sisters, Ethol Palmer, Salt Lake City, UT., Ellen Cougill, Eugene, OR., two sons, Ken (Deborah) and Steve Hester (Nancy), Grandchildren Jon Hester (Shannon) and Kirstin Peterson, great grandchildren Jory Zettle, Jack Peterson and Isabella Hester. At Frieda's request no memorial service will be held. please send any memorial contributions to one of her favorite organizations, the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.
