  1. 2.  Robert Wallace HadlockRobert Wallace Hadlock was born on 6 Jun 1919 in Nevada, USA (son of Leonard Robert Hadlock and Georgia Thurston Willcox); died on 15 Feb 2012 in Reno, Nevada, USA.

    Notes:

Robert Wallace Hadlock passed away on February 15, 2012 at the age of 92. His friends and family will remember him as an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and an accomplished finish carpenter. The trout in Northern Nevada can finally rest knowing that "Bob" won't be trying to coax them out of their holes.
A lifelong Reno resident, Bob was born on June 9, 1919 to Georgia (Willcox) and Leonard Hadlock in a part of Reno known as Coney Island. Bob enjoyed ice skating and skiing as a child and at a young age showed an aptitude for working with wood and mechanical gadgets. While attending Billinghurst Junior High School and Reno High School, he won numerous awards for his wood shop creations. However, his love of carpentry and cars delayed his graduation by several years.
His attraction to water, engines and speed led him to build and crew speedboats on local lakes.
Bob's church was the outdoors and his religion was fishing. He lived by the motto, "Fear no trout, salmon, catfish or whatever he was trolling for that day. Bob fished all over northern Nevada and in parts of California and those trips were the source of many family adventures. He loved to stroll down to the Truckee River, a short distance from his residence, to fish after building cabinets and homes all day.
Fishing was his first love, but he also roamed the Great Basin hunting dove, partridge, deer sage grouse and his number one pursuit, chukar.
In 1942, Bob left his budding career as a carpenter to go off to war, serving his country well if not willingly in the jungles of New Guinea.
He eventually met and married Paquita (Francis) Murillo who was his partner for 59 years and had two daughters Robin and Nancy Hadlock.
Bob worked with a number of local contractors in the Reno area and formed a partnership with Paul Etcheberry subdividing and constructing homes in Southwest Reno.
He is survived by his two daughters Robin and Nancy (Richard Potashin); grandchildren Cassandra Morton, Samantha Brasher (Kyle), Robert Hessler and Andrea Hessler; great grandchildren Natalee Brasher and Rylee Brasher and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A remembrance for Bob will be held at the home of Valerie Nelson on Sunday, February 19, from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M.Robert Wallace Hadlock passed away on February 15, 2012 at the age of 92.
