    Ron Lewis, 61, of Owego, N.Y., was sent off from home by his loving family to go on a fishing trip in Heaven early Saturday morning, October 13, 2007. He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Betty Ann Lewis; his parents, Linden and Harriet Armstrong, Camden, N.Y.; his three children, Jason Lewis and Shana Stalker, Neil Lewis and Sarrah Sindoni, Keith and Crystal Lewis; his four grandchildren, Jeremy, Evan, Jillian and Rhyan Lewis; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Richards; his brother-in-law, William Richards; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Alfred B. Lewis; infant sister, Debbie Lou Armstrong; and his father-in-law, Robert J. Richards. Ron was born in Rome, N.Y., on September 15, 1946. He graduated from Camden High School in 1954 and Simmons Institute of Funeral Service. Together with his wife, Ron owned and operated Richards Funeral Home in Owego for many years. He always strived to serve families with dignity and compassion and was a dedicated member of the community as a member of the Owego Kiwanis Club and the Zion Lutheran Church. A passionate sportsman and a lifetime member of the Tioga County Sportsman's Association, Ron won the competition for Tioga County All Around Sportsman, as well as many other titles for archery, trap and handgun competitive shooting leagues. For his dedication and love for the sports, he was an amazingly successful deer hunter and fisherman, sharing the heritage with his family throughout the years. From conquering the woods in Halsey Valley and Pennsylvania to his two matching "Blue Fin" charter boats on Lake Ontario and Venice, Fla., or to just simply drift the river channel with his sons and grandson out behind the house. With his "all out" way of approaching things, Ron lived for his family and was unconditionally devoted to them all. He will forever rest peacefully in God's tender loving care.
    A Funeral Service will be held at his funeral home, Richards Funeral Home, Rte. 17c West, Owego, N.Y., on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Mark Osborn, friend, officiating. Burial will follow in Tioga Cemetery in the Richards family plot. Family and friends are invited to Richards Funeral Home on Monday, October 15, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A deep heartfelt thank you is given to Ron's special group of medical personnel, friends, and family who have helped him through his journey.

    CAMDEN ? Alfred B. Lewis 23. World War II veteran, died at 10 a.m. today at his home on the River Road where he had lived for a year.
    He was born in Rome, March 1, 1923, a son of Alfred J. and Marian Ballard Lewis. On Aug 23, 1943, at Taberg, he married Harriet Kirby, Father Foley officiating.
    He was a member of St. Patrick?s Church, Taberg, a graduate of Camden High School, class of 1941, where he was pitcher for the school baseball team for two years; he was also a member of Meeker-O?Rourke Post, American Legion, Taberg, and a member of Taberg Fire Department.
    He entered service in January, 1943 and served 18 months in Europe. He had worked for Rome Manufacturing Co., since his discharge.
    Surviving besides his widow arte an infant son, Ronald, Camden; his parents, Taberg, his maternal grandfather, Edgar Ballard, Taberg; three brothers, and a sister, Edgar, Joseph, Elizabeth and Marie Lewis, Taberg.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick?s Church, Taberg, and interment in charge of B. A> Sanborn & Son, will be made in St. Patrick?s Cemetery.

    Harriet (Kirby) Armstrong, of Camden, NY, peacefully passed away on December 17, 2016 at the age of 92. She was welcomed into Heaven to join her husband of 65 years, Linden Armstrong; her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Betty Ann Lewis; her infant daughter, Debbie Lou Armstrong; her grandson, Jason Lewis; and her first husband, Alfred Ballard Lewis, deceased in 1946.
    Harriet leaves behind her dearest sisters and brother, Mary Lou Bird, Linda Furney with Ken Weber and Demoin Kirby, Jr. with Carolyn Cushman; also her grandsons, Neil and Sarrah Lewis, Keith and Crystal Lewis; her very special great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Evan, Jillian, Rhyan, Autumn, Camden and baby Aaron, who was born the morning she passed away; also her many special nieces, nephews, and their families who have meant so much to her and have helped throughout the years; and so many special friends. Harriet was also predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Reata Kirby; her brothers-in-law, Randall Bird, Richard ?Dick? Furney; her sister-in-law, Donna S.     Harriet was born on December 13, 1924, the daughter of Demoin Sr. and Gertrude (Scott) Kirby, and lived her entire life in Camden, NY. She worked for General Cable in Rome, NY during WWII, and then continued for 26 years at the Rochester Shoe Tree in Camden, which is where she met her husband, Linden. They were married on April 24, 1948, and were inseparable ever since. She was a member for over 50 years of the Camden United Methodist Church; member of the Camden Senior Citizens and Treasurer for over 20 years; member of the Annsville Senior Citizens and Treasurer for over 15 years; member of the Williamstown Senior Citizens; and the Ricard Grange #993. Harriet will especially be remembered for her selfless devotion and love for her entire family; her gift of conversation and her untiring zest for life.
    Private Services for Harriet will be held at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden, at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, son and extended family in Tioga Cemetery, Owego, NY. In her memory, live your life to the fullest.

    Taberg ? Alfred J. Lewis, 54, died Jan 3, 1955 at his home on the Taberg-Florence Rd.
    He was born March 19, 1900 in Rome, son of Fred and Elizabeth Pfeiffer Lewis. He married Marian Ballard in Taberg Oct. 12, 1921. He lived in Taberg for the past 30 years. He was a farmer and had worked for 14 years as a meat cutter for his brother in Rome. He was a communicant of St. Patrick?s Church, Taberg, and a member of the Taberg Volunteer Fire Company.
    Surviving besides his wife, are two sons, Edgar F., Camden; and Joseph at home; two daughters, Mrs. Edward McNamara, Lowell and Mrs. Harold MacFarland, Rome; 17 grandchildren, a brothers, Willis, Taberg; four sisters; Mrs. John Mathis, Mrs. Raymond Darrow and Mrs. Gaylord Rieck all of Rome and Mrs. Walter Pierie, Ogdensburg; several nieces and nephews.
    The funeral will be at 9 tomorrow from the B. A. Sanborn Funeral Home and 10 from St. Patrick?s Church, Taberg. Burial will be in St. Patrick?s Cemetery, Taberg.

    Mrs. Lewis leaves two sons, Edgar of Camden and Joseph of Taberg and two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Elizabeth) McNamara of Lowell, and Mrs. Peter (Marie) MacFarland of Rome.

    He was born in Taberg Sept. 10, 1872, son of Benjamin and Jennie Agan Ballard. On May 9, 1895, he was married in Taberg to Lillian Banning, who died in 1936.
    He had been a farmer during most of his life. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harry Fox, Sr., and Mrs. Alfred Lewis, both of Taberg; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2:30 pun. Sunday at the home of Harry Fox, Jr., Taberg, with the Rev. George Stratton officiating.
    Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Taberg.

    Taberg, Sept. 10 ? Mrs. Lillian May Banning Ballard, 62, wife of Edgar Ballard, died at her home here at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday night after an extended illness.
    She was born here, May 29, 1874, a daughter of the late Chauncey and Elizabeth Sandford Banning. Her grandfather was General Aaron Sandford In the War of 1812. On May 9, 1895, she was married at Blossvale to Mr. Ballard of Taberg who survives. She was a member of the Taberg M. E. Church and of the Ladies Aid Society.
    Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Harry Fox and Mrs. Alfred Lewis of Taberg; seven grandchildren; a brother, Frank E. Banning of Blossvale.
    Funeral services will be held at her late home on Saturday at 2 p. m. e. s. t. and burial will be made in Maple Hill Cemetery.
