    At the Almonte General Hospital on Saturday, January 1st, 1966, Charles C. Comba, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Ellen Clarke, dear father of Gladys (Mrs A.W. Dunkley), Allan C. of Toronto, and the late Lawrence Keith of Stratford, brother of Ida (Mrs Herb Boyd), Almonte, also surviving are three grandchildren. The funeral was held from the Comba Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan 4th. Interment in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.

    Notes:

    The death of Mrs Elizabeth Comba, wife of Charles C. Comba, occurred at the Bethesda Hospital, Toronto, Thursday, December 5th after an illness of over a year. Mrs Comba, daughter of the late Margaret Munro and David Clark, was born in Almonte and received her education here. After her marriage to Charles Comba they lived in Almonte until 1921, when they moved to Toronto where they reside until her death. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Almonte and took an active part in church work. In Toronto, she was a member of St Clair Avenue United Church and of the Women's Association. She was an active member of the Well's Hill Lawn Bowling Club until her recent sickness. Mrs Comba leaves, besides her husband a daughter, Gladys, Mrs A.W. Dunkley, and a son, Allan, both of Toronto. Her other son, Keith, of Stratford, Ont, predeceased her by six months. She also leaves a sister, Hattie Clark of Almonte, and three grandchildren. A funeral service was held in Toronto on Saturday, December 7 after which the remains were brought to Almonte to the Comba Funeral Home, where a service was held on Monday, Dec 9th. Burial took place in the Auld Kirk cemetery.

    Mr. David Clark
    An old and respected resident of Almonte passed away Monday in the person of David Clark in his 80th year. He was born at Mountain of United Empire Loyalist stock his father being James Clark and his mother Harriett Van Camp. Deceased came to Almonte about 60 years ago and was employed in the woolen mills of the town He was married to Margaret Munroe who passed away two years ago. Mr and Mrs Clark had seven children, four of whom are living. The latter are: Miss Hattie, Almonte; Mrs C. Comba, Toronto; Hugh of Saskatchewan and Bertram of Ottawa. There are also one brother and three sisters surviving, namely: Charles of Renfrew; Mrs Berry and Mrs Shaver of South Mountain and Mrs John McIntosh, Williamburg. The funeral was held Wednesday Afternoon from the family residence, Mitcheson street, to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Services were conducted at the home and cemetery by Rev A. McLauchlin of Trinity United Church. The pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased. R. Kearney, T. Price, Albert Clark, Alex Munro, W. Munroe Jr. and Ernest Foster. Floral offerings from relatives and friends testified to the esteem in which the late Mr. Clark was held. Among those attending the funeral from a distance were Chas Clark, Renfrew; Alfred Clark, Ottawa; Mr and Mrs C. Comba, Toronto; Mr Allan Comba, Toronto; Mr and Mrs Bert Clarke, Ottawa and quite a number from Clayton and vicinity.

    Mrs David Clark
    The passing of Mrs David Clark on Wednesday, January 28 will be noted with regret by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances throughout the district. She was in her 78th year. The deceased was Margaret Munro, a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Hugh Munro and was born at Hall's Mills, coming to Almonte while quite a young girl. She was married to Mr David Clark and for over 50 years resided in the town of Almonte where, by her kindly disposition and many noble qualities she won for herself a very wide circle of friends. She is survived by her husband, 2 sons and 2 daughters all of whom were present at the funeral on Friday, January 30 to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Mr Hugh Clark of Cardross, Sask., Mr Bert Clark of the Civil Service, Ottawa, Mrs Charlie Comba, of Toronto, Miss Hattie Clark of Edwards, Ontario together with the husband are left to mourn her loss. She also leaves five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The late Mrs Clark had been in poor health for several years but was only confined to her bed during the last four weeks A life long member of Trinity Church, the funeral which was largely attended, was conducted by Rev A.J. Terrill, who paid tribute to the long and useful life of the departed. The pallbearers were her two sons, Hugh and Bert Clark; Mr Robert Kearney, a nephew; Robert Munro, a brother; Mr C Comba, a son-in-law and Mr Allan Comba, a grandson. Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr Hugh Clark of Cardross, Sask.; Mr Bert Clark of Ottawa; Miss Hattie Clark of Edwards; Mrs A.W. Dunley, nee Gladys Comba of Toronto; Mr Allan Comba of Toronto; Mr L.K. Comba of Stratdord, Ont.; and Mr and Mrs C. Comba of Toronto.
