Burr Pennock , 62, of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Bronson Hospital Kalamazoo. Burr was born January 31, 1951 in Battle Creek, the son of Charles and Patricia (VanSyckle) Pennock. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1969 and went on to receive a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University in Electrical Engineering. Burr served in the United States Navy from 1974 until 1978 achieving the rank of petty officer. He had a long career as an electrical engineer and plant manager for the aerospace and metals manufacturing industries. Burr enjoyed spending time golfing and fishing. Burr is survived by his mother, Patricia; his wife of 30 years, Lucinda (Deitrick) Pennock; sons, Jacob Pennock of Oakland, CA, Daniel Pennock of Wintson ? Salem, NC and Augustus Pennock stationed with the United States Army in El Paso, TX; brothers, CB Pennock, Chick Pennock and Rob Pennock; sisters, Terry Ann Davis, Kim Wisher, Amber Clifford and Kelly Gibson. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles. A Memorial Gathering will take place from 1 until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Shaw Funeral Home, 2838 Capital Avenue, S.W. Memorial donations may go to Western Michigan University Department of Engineering in memory of Burr Pennock, Walwood Hall, 1903 West Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49008-5403. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home.

Patricia Pennock, age 82, of Battle Creek, passed away January 2, 2016. Patricia was born February 27, 1933 in Battle Creek the daughter of Winford and Lillian (Spenger) VanSyckle. She married Charles Pennock on June 27, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2002.
Patricia is survived by her children: Terry (Terry) Davis of Warsaw, IN; CB Pennock of Hastings; Kim Wischer of Rock Hill, SC; Chick (Brenda) Pennock of Gibbon, NE; Rob (Carrie) Pennock of Battle Creek; Amber (Jim) Clifford of Greeley, CO; and Kelli (Mel)Gibson of Springview, NE; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Besides her husband Charles, Patricia was preceded in death by her son: Burr Pennock in 2013.
Patricia loved watching her grandchildren play sports and she loved going to the casino.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be private family services at a later date.
Memorial donations in Patricia's name may be directed to the American Heart Association.
