    The death of Fred Joseph Moody notice of which was published Is these column last week, for over 50 years a leading citizen of this vicinity, prominent In many circles of life, occurred at his home, Rand and Strange Preserve Wednesday evening at 7.40 o'clock, August 5th, 1914, from cerebral hemorrhage.
    At the death bedside were the family and Mr. Strange of New York.
    Mr. Moody had not been had not been good health for some time previous to his death, but his condition was not such as to call for alarm. Born in Saranac Lake, February 28th, 1867, second son of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Moody, the deceased passed his entire life in Tupper Lake with the exception of one year when his parents resided in Saranac Lake. Mr. Moody was the oldest resident in this vicinity and was highly esteemed by all who had the pleasure of his friendship and whose life had bean a benediction to all within the circle of his acquaintance.
    Ia the year 1883 he was married to Miss Mary Hinkson of Bloomingdale, and to this union six children were born, namely: Mrs. Albert S. Hosier, Misses Dera, Hasel, Nellie, Willard and Alberta, all of whom with his widow survive hint and who reside in Tupper Lake.
    Mr. Moody was the best known of the Adirondack guides and in the early days acted as official guide for Edward H Litchfield and other well known New Yorkers who have since built palatial homes in the Adirondacks.
    In the year 1901 he engaged as superintendent with Read and Strange owners of a large and valuable preserve on Little Simons Pond, which position he creditably held until hit death.
    The funeral services took place from Grace Methodist Church last Friday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. A E Dudd officiating, and was attended by a large concourse of citizens and friends, burial taking place in the family plot in Tupper Lake cemetery. The pallbearers
    were: D. J. Hayes, D. C. Randall, J. Howard Brown, William J Southworth, P. H. McCarthy and Clarence I. King.
