- James W. Gates, Division St., died at the Benedict Memorial Hospital [Ballston Spa] last night [7 Sept] after a brief illness. He was stricken with coronary thrombosis Tuesday night and rushed to the hospital.
Mr. Gates, a lifelong resident of Ballston Spa, had been superintendent of the Ballston Spa Cemetery for the last two years. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Hermion Lodge, Knights of Pthias and Kayaderosseras Lodge, IOOF.
Survivors are his wife Mrs. Margaret Lewis Gates; an aunt Mrs. Martha Cole, Amsterdam Road, and several cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wheeler Funeral Home. The Rev. Jesse S. Greene, pastor of St. Luke?s Church, Albany and former pastor of the Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Ballston Spa Cemetery.
