- Funeral services for Carol Johnson, age 66, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Lynn Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburg Cemetery in the Spring. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home, on 515 Caroline Street. Mrs. Johnson passed away at Albany Medical Center on Monday, March 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Carol is survived by her husband, Joseph; a daughter, Ramona Kennedy and her husband, Andrew; one son, William Harper, and his companion, Heather Kennedy; four grandchildren, Daniel Kennedy, Nathan Kennedy, Cody Harper and Abigail Harper; a special sister-in-law, Debbie Burke and her husband, Timothy; and three nephews, Marc, Michael and Joseph.
She was predeceased by a son, Yancey Harper, in 1997.
Carol was born on July 27, 1948, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Vernon D. Perry and Remith S. Bice. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy. Carol first married William Harper and that marriage ended in divorce. She later married Joseph Johnson on January 3, 1981 with Deacon David Sandburg officiating. Carol first went to work Ames in Ogdensburg and then went on to work at ACCO International Brands in 1977 retiring in 1998.
Carol?s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo.
