- Joanne Bleeker Tolles passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 26, 2010 at Lifecare Center of Plainwell. She was born March 17, 1932 in Kalamazoo, the daughter and name-sake of John and Anna (Bogema) Bleeker. On June 4, 1954, she was united in marriage her best friend and fishing partner, Wendell J. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Wendell; their two children, Douglas (Robyn) Tolles of Kalamazoo and Diane (Steve) McLeod of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Jessica and Ian McLeod; and
several nieces and nephews. In addition to fishing, Joanne enjoyed traveling with Wendell; camping/fishing at Interlochen State Park over 50 summers and 23 winters in Florida. She is remembered for her care of others and her never ending faith in God's Will. Preceding her in death were her parents; and two brothers, Jack Bleeker of Florida and David Bleeker of Oregon - all waiting with cane fishing poles and bobbers in-hand. The family will celebrate the Lord's Promise to Joanne at a funeral service at 1:00 PM on Saturday
