    • HOLT, Arthur John (Jack) - It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Arthur John (Jack) Holt on Thursday, October 20th, 2016 at Earl?s Court Village. Jack was in his 97th year. Beloved husband of the late Norma Beatrice Cooper (1954) and the late Mernie Elizabeth Gould (2007). Dear father of Susan Miko (Alex) of St. Marys, John Holt (Bonnie) of London, David Holt of St. Maarten, Gerald Hughes (Anne) of Chesley, Barry McKeen (Pamela, 2016) of Oakville; grandchildren: David Miko (1989) Heather Miko-Kelly (Alex), Peter Miko (Brita). Bill Holt (Golli), Michael Holt (Kate), Ian McKeen (Patti), Rebecca McKeen, Jessie, Ryan, Jay and Garcy Hughes and five great grandchildren, Josephine, Liora, Alexis, Elena & Thea. Jack was born in Calgary in 1920. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in Aircraft Design and Construction School in California. He moved to Toronto in 1938 and was employed immediately at Malton in the construction of aircraft destined for WWII. After the war, he was closely involved in the Avro Arrow project. He lived, worked and raised his family in the Toronto area. Upon retirement, Jack and Mernie moved to Barrie where they enjoyed many years together. After Mernie's passing in 2007, Jack moved to London to be closer to the support that he needed from his family. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff at Kensington Village, Earls Court Village and all of the excellent medical staff at University Hospital for their kind, compassionate and professional care. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
