- Baird, Mildred Katherine (Millie) ? the family announces with sorrow the death of Mildred Katherine Baird on March 4 2009 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Elmer Baird, loving mother of Dale Tafford (Donna), grandmother to Mark Tafford (Sara), and predeceased by her beloved grandson Todd. Millie leaves five great grandchildren, Rachel, Tracy May, Taylor, Brooke and Sheldon. She is predeceased by her parents Paddy and Mildred Doyle, brother Malcolm and Patrick and sister Lottie. She leaves sister-in-law Doreen Doyle, cousin Judy Veinot and many nieces and nephews. Millie was the Manager of the Credit Bureau for 40 years and a Town councillor for 20 years. She belonged to the Women?s Business and Professional Club and the Kirkland Lake Curling Club. The Tafford family will welcome friends at the Trinity United Church on Duncan Avenue at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday March 7 2009 with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kirkland District Hospital or to the Tech Pioneer Residence would be appreciated.
