    • Sadly, the family announces the passing of Dean Allan Smith, 71, formerly of R.R.# 1 Devlin, Ont., on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
      Dean was born Jan. 21, 1944 to Milton and Vivian Smith, and grew up on the family farm north of Devlin.
      He was united in marriage to Emily Boldero on Aug. 25, 1973.
      He worked for many businesses over the years, including Kingsway Freight, Dennis Robinson Construction, Alton Pollard, and T.W. Judson Construction to name a few.
      Dean had a great love for heavy horses, and took great pride is showing them at the Emo and Dryden fairs with his good friend, Harold Kellar, as well as giving sleigh rides in the winter.
      Dean?s team, ?Princess? and ?Pearl,? where his pride and joy.
      Dean will be greatly missed by his wife, Emily; children, Dale (Lorilee) Smith of Crozier, Ont., Jim of Devlin, Ont., Shelly (Ben) Janzen of Ridgetown, Ont., and Debbie (Mike) Mulholland of Windsor, Ont.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
      He also is survived by his brother-in-law, Bryan Boldero (Marlene); sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Steve) Gerley and Kathy (Albert) Leek; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
      Dean was predeceased by his parents, Milton and Vivian; and brother-in-law, John Boldero.
      A time of fellowship was held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont.
      Interment will take at a later date.
