Peacefully on April 28, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Gertrude (Gracie) (nee Haney) with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage. Loving father of Trudy and husband Martin Best, and J. Brooke Murray. Treasured grandpa of Rachelle and husband Robert DiRisio and great grandpa of Sydney Marie. Loved brother of Arnita, wife of the late Bernard Dunn, the late Beulah and husband Paul Anders, the late Beverly, wife of Joseph Frey, the late Peggy Duddy and Frances Murray. Jim retired from Chrysler Leasing after 15 years of service. Prior he had worked for 25 years at Walker Metal Products. He served our country during WWII in the R.C.A.F. as Sergeant and was a member of the Wing 412 R.C.A.F Association and Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 143, Air Force Club of Windsor and longtime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. If you so desire, donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Thursday 3-5 & 7-9pm. Parish Prayers Thursday 4:30pm. Veteran's Memorial Service under the auspices of Windsor Veteran's Memorial Service Committee Thursday evening 7:30pm at Families First Funeral Home & Tribute Centre (969-5841) 3260 Dougall Ave. On Friday, family and friends are invited to meet the family at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church after 12:30pm followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
