    CECIL McINTYRE

    The sudden death of Cecil Milton McIntyre of 188 Country Street occurred in Almonte on, Monday, October 20th, 1975. He was in his 62nd year. Mr. McIntyre was born on December 26, 1913 in Langham, Saskatchewan, the son of the late John A. McIntyre and the Euphemia Barr. Mr. Mclntyre served from 1940 to 1945 in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. He farmed in Ramsay township for several years, after which he was employed by Pfizer of Canada in Arnprior for thirteen years. Ill health then forced him into semi-retirement. An avid fan of all sports and very interested in music, Mr. McIntyre was also a member of the Almonte United Church. On July 10, 1943, he married Evelyn Symington in Almonte whom he predeceases. Mrs. McIntyre is an elementary school teacher in Almonte. Surviving are his wife Evelyn, and daughters Wilma Jean Chapman of Ottawa, and Gail Evelyn Colbourne of Bells Corners. Also surviving are brothers; Everton of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; MacPherson of Delisle, Saskatchewan, David of Langley, British Columbia; and sisters Violet Brown of Langham, Saskatchewan, Jean McMillan of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Ada Urquhart of Edmonton, Alberta. Predeceased is one daughter, Gwen Evelyn, who died in infancy. The funeral was held from the Kerry Funeral Home, Almonte, on Thursday, October 23 at 2.00 p.m. with interment in Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev. Robert J. McCrea officiated. Pallbearers were David Chapman, Douglas Colbourne, Mac McIntyre, Dave McIntyre, Clair Symington, and Wayne Symington. Fellow members of the church session serving as Honourary Pallbearers were Ross Craig, Cecil Turner, George Robertson, John Caldwell, Gordon Anderson and Jim Paul. Flower bearers were Alan Symington, Donald Symington and Ronald Symington.

    Cecil married Evelyn Euphemia Symington on 10 Jul 1943 in Almonte, Ontario, Canada. Evelyn (daughter of Joseph Henry Symington and Margaret Jennett Munro) was born on 14 Mar 1915 in Almonte, Ontario, Canada; died on 12 Nov 2010 in Almonte, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
