Aldon (Al) In hospital on Sunday August 30th, after a courageous battle with gall bladder cancer, George Aldon (Al) Pretty, beloved husband of 56 years and best friend of Maysie Doreen (Moorhouse) Pretty, son of the late Elwood G. and Jean A. (Smith) Pretty. Survived by his sister Sheila Bowman, sister-in-law Edith Moorhouse, several nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Winona Pretty. Al worked for many years in the Automotive Trade employed by Myers Chev Olds Cadillac, Belisle Automobile 69 Ltd. and Jack May Pontiac Buick prior to his retirement. Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry , 150 Woodroffe Ave (at Richmond Road) on Wednesday September 2 , 2009 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Martin's Anglican Church, 2120 Prince Charles Road, on Thursday September 3rd at 11:00 am, followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Interment to take place at Capital Memorial Gardens. Donations in Aldon's memory to St. Martin's Anglican Church or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

    George married Maysie Doreen Moorhouse on 25 Jul 1953 in Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada. Maysie was born in 1926; died in Sep 2017; was buried in Capital Memorial Gardens, Ottawa, Ottawa Municipality, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Peacefully, on Sunday, April 7, 2013 in her 88th year. Predeceased by husband Stuart Bowman. Loving mother of Beverley Dillon, Linda Desjardins, Tim Bowman (Clarissa), Kevin Bowman (Lucie) and Wendy Lavigne (Jean-Marc). Fondly remembered by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Elwood and Jean Pretty, brother Aldon Pretty (Maysie) and sister Winona Pretty. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) Ottawa, on Wednesday, April 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Special thanks to the loving staff at Laurier Manor for their time, care and attention. Memorial donations to the C.N.I.B. would be appreciated.

Cherished grandmother of Samantha, Cassidy, Vanessa, Brandon, Sydney and great-grandmother of Abigail. Dear sister of Linda, Kevin and Wendy. Will be fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her brother Tim.
