    BANNING, Everett William Sr. 81, of Melody Lane, Ivoryton died Saturday February 4. Husband of Hazel Dee Banning. He was born April 23, 1902, in Westbrook, son of the late William and Ida Platt Banning, and was a resident of Ivoryton most of his life. He was a retired plumbing and heating contractor. He was a chartered member of the Westbrook Lodge of Elks #1784.
    Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter Mrs. Richard (Delores) Budney of Ivoryton; a brother, Fred Banning if Ivoryton; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Riggio and Mrs. Ida Duffy, both of Ivoryton; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Everett Banning Jr.
    The funeral will be Wednesday, 11 A.M. at the Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook. Burial will be in Centerbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today 7 to 9 P.M. The Elks Service will be today at 7:30 P.M.     LOUIS BANNING, 53, DIES - STRICKEN WHILE DRIVING CAR
    A 53 year old Ivoryton motorist suffered a fatal heart attack at the wheel of his car Sunday, state police reported Monday. Louis Banning of 30 Comstock Avenue, was driving on Main Street, Ivoryton, when he was stricken, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the body was removed to the Robinson and Wright Funeral Home. His wife was a passenger in the car, but no accident or injury resulted from the seizure, police said.
    He had been employed at Repco Inc. of Essex until 1969, when he retired because of ill health. He was a member of the Ivoryton Congregational Church and the Essex Fire Department.
    He leaves his wife, Mrs. Doris Guertia Banning; his mother Mrs. Ida Platt Banning; two brothers, Everett Banning and Fred Banning and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Riggion and Mrs. Harold Duffy, all of Ivoryton. The funeral is Wednesday at 2 P.M. at Robinson and Wright Funeral Home, Main Street, Centerbrook. Burial will be in Centerbrook Cemetery, Essex. Calling hours are today from 7 to 9 P.M.

Hilley, having just celebrated their marriage of 60 years on July 23. She was born in Ivoryton on March 17, l922, daughter of the late Sam and Nellie (Banning) Riggio. She was a l940 graduate of Pratt High School, Essex, and a member of the Ivoryton Congregational Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia H. Millspaugh and Wendy H. Morison both of Old Saybrook; and four grandchildren, James Millspaugh Jr, Michael Millspaugh, Jessica Morison and Kelly Morison; her brother, Frank Riggio of Ivoryton; and nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her brother Ernest (Bud) Riggio. A gathering will be held on Mon evening, August 18, from 6-7 p.m, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook.     Frank Lawrence Riggio, 91, of Ivoryton, Conn., passed away on November 10. He was born in Ivoryton on June 25, 1926, the son of the late Samuel and Nellie (Banning) Riggio. He was the beloved husband of the late Audley Reynolds Riggio, his high school sweetheart, for 45 years. A 1944 graduate of Pratt High School in Essex, Conn., Frank began his working career at Cramer Controls in Centerbrook, Conn., as a machine operator. He moved on to management roles in manufacturing and engineering at Cleveland Cap Screw, Raymond Engineering, and Hayden Switch and Instrument. He was one of the founders of Modulus Corp., a company that produced cold forged fasteners for the automotive industry. In 1980 he started his own manufacturing business, Camtech, Inc., with his sons. It utilized custom machines that he had designed and built. He retired in 1994. Frank was a good man, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a spirited individual who always saw the positive opportunities that life had to offer and he wasn't afraid to share his opinion on nearly everything. He leaves behind his son Glenn Riggio and wife Christine Riggio of Killingworth, Conn.; son Mark Riggio and wife Jacqueline Stack of Chester, Conn., and son Tod Riggio and wife Holly Johnson of Madison, Conn. He also leaves three grandchildren, Geoffrey Riggio, Daniel Riggio and William Riggio, and three step-grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Andrew Tower and Jacob Begansky. In addition, he leaves his brother-in-law Robert Reynolds of Live Oak, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Judith Hilley and brother Ernest "Bud" Riggio. A private graveside service will be held at the family's convenience. He attended Valley Regional High School in Deep River and Eastern Connecticut State College in Willimantic, and earned a degree in Business Administration. He was a district sales manager for Crown Uniforms and Linens in South Windsor and Milford. He was a lifetime athlete beginning with Tri-town Football and Little League baseball, continued through to high school, college and beyond. He participated in several fundraising golf tournaments. He also played basketball on the Wazy Classic Basketball Team and the Middlesex Over 40 Softball Team. He was a member of the Swede Club in Deep River. He leaves behind his parents; his sister, Diane Belval, and her husband, Stephen; his niece, Megan Giamei; his uncle, Vodge Budney, and his wife, Betty; his aunt, Lorraine Flanagan, and many cousins. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Doreen Bartkowski, and her daughter, Ally. He had an abundance of loyal friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, in Centerbrook, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 10:30AM, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street, in Essex. Inurnment will follow in the Centerbrook Cemetery in Centerbrook. Memorial contributions can be made in Paul's name to the Valley Shore Animal Welfare League, 647 Horsehill Road, Westbrook, CT. 06498.
